just to review, i had my meeting today with the two elders who say a sister has accused me of "grinding" with her and thus porneia.
so i printed out several of your comments on how to defend myself.
i felt good about standing my ground, and repeating that i had not "grinded" with this ex-friend and that she wants to ruin the relationship i have now with the sister i am dating.. however, the two elders today really tried to pressure me.
Have you pissed off any of these elders? Because it really sounds like someone wants you gone. When one of the good ol' boys wants you gone, they'll find a way to do it.
I thought that the two witnesses rule meant two witnesses must testify to the one incident, not one witnesses testifying about one incident and the other testifying about another one.
does anyone remember being a little kid and being forced to sit through those 2 hour meetings?
specifically being made to listen to graphic accounts of whatever country that was going through horrific persecution.

True, smoking is bad for your health and is addictive and expensive, but so is obesity. And how many JWs are obese?
I worked in healthcare for almost 20 years. I saw numerous cases of health problems from smoking, but saw way more from obesity!!
So, if the Dubbie position is that smoking is disrespecting god's gift of life, then obesity should also be made to be a DF'ing offense.
It won't be so therefore if a Dubbie wants to smoke, then it should be their own decision.
Some GB member in the past probably didn't like smokers so he pushed to make it a DF'ing offense.
i want to share with you all a most wonderful experience i have just had.
i have been going to a christian church called the vineyard.
they have a live band and lots of singing goes on there.
I'm an atheist but I think that humans can experience altered realities that can affect them either positively or negatively (neural functions and brain chemicals).
But......
The subjective experience of these mental states can be profound on individuals. If you experienced something like this and it was positive and was meaningful, then I say rock on!

Here's one! When I was a teenager back in the 80's, we had an elder who was such a jackass and hopeless geek, that once at a picnic get-together, he thought I should be counselled for "wearing fadish clothing." I was wearing parachute pants.

Whenever I attend a meeting, I make sure I wear below the knee skirts and non-cleavage tops, but I'll also make sure to wear textured hose or micro fishnets, or if I go hose-less, I'll have my toenails painted hot pink.
